Details, details
Here is some helpful information about scheduling a sitting, viewing your pictures…and everything in between:
1. Fell free to use the “Contact Me” tab above to e-mail me or, if you would like to call, you can reach me at 310-904-9695.
2. Most photoshoots take place on weekends, as that is when Mod & Dad are both available. However, this means weekends fill up fast. While every effort is made to accommodate weekend Sittings, it’s never a bad idea to consider a weekday shoot.
3. Shoots last anywhere from 1 – 2 hours depending on the child. I like to give myself a large enough window of time to take the all the photos I need.
4. Hold the ‘Cheeeese.’ Nothing translates better in photos than organic, authentic moments. To that end, I often encourage parents to resist the urge to direct their children to ‘smile’ or ‘say cheese.’ If you wish for some ‘formals’ we can carve out some time to make sure we get those. In my experience, the best photos (and the best photoshoots) are largely unrehearsed, free flowing events.
5. I know it works in almost every other situation, but try to refrain from bribing children with food. Unless eating the food is ‘the shot’ (ie. first chocolate cake) most feeding frenzy photos are not keepers.
6. If your baby is hungry and needs to take a break for milk, that’s more than fine…we can shoot that too. You can always reward a child after the shoot with ice-cream or cookies, which sometimes is enough to keep the child cooperating.
7. Try to relax and have fun. Children take their cues from their parents, so if you’re having a great time, they will follow suit. Feel free to read a book to your child, tell them a story, play patty-cake, whisper to them, let them whisper back…just be yourselves.
8. Once the photoshoot is over, I will spend some time editing and color correcting. From there, I will post your pictures on a password-protected online viewing gallery. You are free to share the gallery with family and friends. Print orders are placed by me.
